Fear, en español se dice MIEDO, is a crippling emotion that prevents many students from learning Spanish. Students are often fearful of not being good enough, making mistakes, failure, the unknown, or speaking in public.
The truth is, we all have fears, but we MUST overcome them. So how does one overcome the fear of learning Spanish? You must first remember that learning is a lifelong process. Do not expect to be a fluent speaker in a day or even 2 months! ¡Practica, Practica, Practica! As with any other skill, the more you practice, the better you become.
Marianne Williamson penned a profound statement on fear: “’Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Mis queridos, in closing I say to you: “No tengan miedo.”
